This class is recommended for parents, grandparents, and anyone caring for an infant. The primary emphasis of the class is on injury prevention, and also includes learning how and when to administer CPR to an infant. You will learn common choking hazards and demonstrate how to rescue an infant who has an airway obstruction. We discuss ways to baby-proof your home, reduce the risk of SIDS, and consider how safety challenges change as babies develop and explore. This class is taught by a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and an American Heart Association Certified CPR Instructor, but does not result in CPR certification.
Price is per couple.
Praise for Jocelyn:
“Jocelyn taught a very interactive class with lots of discussion and hands on experiences and created an environment that was open to share and discuss anything. This class built confidence that I have the tools I need to take care of my baby safely."
Jocelyn first became an American Heart Association Certified CPR Instructor in 2005. Her goal is to help you have a positive parenting experience and provide the tools and information needed for keeping your family safe and having confidence in responding to emergencies. In addition to certification as a CPR Instructor, Jocelyn is also a Certified Birth Doula, Certified Lactation Educator, Certified Childbirth Educator, and Exercise Physiologist. She teaches both group and private childbirth classes, prenatal breastfeeding classes, return to work breastfeeding classes, and does private prenatal and postpartum fitness in addition to attending births.
