What is a Doula? - FREE CLASS!
Doulas: what do we do? Have you heard the word “doula” before and wondered what exactly that IS? Or maybe your friends had a doula when their baby was born, or after, and said you needed one, but you don’t know why. Come find out! We will discuss how a doula differs from other perinatal care providers, what doulas do and don’t do, the different KINDS of doulas (birth, postpartum, full spectrum, fertility....), plus how to go about finding the right doula for you.
This class will take place in the Village Maternity Store.
Jen has a BS in Human Development and discovered her passion for caring for others early in life. She spent several years each in the fields of medical office management and Early Childhood Education, always with an eye toward eventually becoming a birthworker. She loves supporting families as they find their way through the maze of birth and early parenting, so becoming a birth (certified through both DONA and PALS) and postpartum doula was a natural fit for her. She is also a Certified Lactation Educator, having trained with Evergreen Perinatal Education in February of 2017.
