Our History
Village Maternity (at the time "Lady Madonna") was started by Shelley Capretto and Brigid Stricks after having their first children. They opened this store for moms to come and ask questions, find stylish and comfortable maternity clothes, and products that work for mom and baby.

A Family Business Is Born
After creating a career in fashion in New York City, Shelly's daughter, Anna Williams decided to move closer to home and take over her mom's beloved store.

2016
After selling NOM Maternity for decades in the store, Village Maternity jumped at the opportunity to take over NOM Maternity - moving manufacturing to Seattle and abroad.

2019
Village Maternity launches IT TAKES A VILLAGE Classes. Aimed at the modern mom, these prenatal and postpartum classes are taught by the best and brightest instructors in Seattle and focus on a range of topics.
Today
Village Maternity is independently owned and operated in Seattle. Since 1983, we've strived to supply moms and moms-to-be with maternity clothes and goods that make you feel and look good during and after pregnancy. Where possible, all products carried at Village Maternity are free from pesticides, toxic chemicals, dyes, or anything that may be harmful to you or your baby.
